Co-Founders, Directors and Stewards
Sovereign Oceans Pte. Limited was established and first registered by Julian and Mereseini Bower on 1 October 2017 with the Evangelical Church of Bangkok by Pastor David King before being registered in Fiji with the Fiji Registrar of Companies. Julian and Mereseini Bower have been married for 30 years and they have two children, Dylan and Veima. Julian and Mereseini see themselves as stewards of Sovereign Oceans, a Kingdom business committed with a heart to serve individuals, families, communities, teams, organizations and nations in raising their quality of life by inspiring and promoting high road development through high road leadership.

Our Team

Mereseini Bower
Vision Leader
Ms. Bower is an economist by training and a development practitioner with a genuine interest in high road development through high road leadership that raises the quality of lives, families, communities, organizations, economies and nations. She has led several initiatives on leadership and change management in various organizations. Ms. Bower has facilitated national, regional and global dialogue on economic development, development financing, future of technology and work, strategic foresight, governance and leadership that require a sophisticated level of understanding development, political dynamics, influences of foreign policies and public diplomacy and private sector expectations on value for money. She has more than thirty years of extensive professional work experience in both the public and private sector (banking and energy) and executive roles in non-government organizations. In the last fifteen years, she has provided leadership on evidence-based policy advice and programme support across the areas of economic, social and environmental development. She has helped developing countries to consider coherent policies to reduce poverty, increase trade benefits that are inclusive of women, girls and youth, achieve socially and economically inclusive and environmentally sustainable development and integrate development financing taxonomies. Ms. Bower was a Fiji delegate to the Emerging Pacific Leaders Dialogue (2010), a Global Emerging Voices Programme Fellow (2012) and a speaker at the "Global Trends and China in the Next Decade Conference", hosted by the China Centre for Contemporary Studies (CCP) providing thought leadership on "Seeking Win-Win Development, China's Potential Role in a Broader and More Complex Asia-Pacific Development and Financing Landscape". She holds a Master of International and Development Economics from the Australian National University, Canberra and a Bachelor of Banking & Finance from Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. Ms. Bower is a John Maxwell certified global speaker, coach and trainer on values-based growth and high road leadership.
Veima Bower
Business Development Lead
Ms. Veima Bower has expertise in strategic communication for development and social change, research and analysis. She has worked on projects that explored innovative solutions in engaging the private sector for financial and digital inclusion encompassing insurance and climate adaptation in Pacific communities. In doing so, she has written numerous human impact stories highlighting the needs of the people of the Pacific including gender dimensions. Veima has designed and moderated high-level panel discussions and has written speeches on these subjects for high-level delegates including at ministerial level. Veima holds a Bachelor of Arts with double major in politics and international studies and media and communications from The University of Melbourne and is embarking on a Masters in Sustainable Business Practices that will contribute to her role as Sovereign Oceans Business Development Lead and our expertise in high road development and high road leadership.
